House, artist book 2020
Traces of fire, artists book, pigment and graphite on Arches paper, 2.64m x 26 cm
My work envisions both the Illawarra and the ancient Mediterranean. The graphite rubbing documents the blocks of a Roman road excavated in Cyprus in 2019.
The artist book is made of ash from layers of burning in the city of Paphos; a dim echo of fiery disasters in Australia.

Lost Road, Graphite on rice paper, 2.66m x .9 m
A graphite rubbing of a Hellenistic Roman road from ancient Paphos, made after the raod had just been excavated in October 2019 during the University of Sydney Paphos Theatre excavation.
